Kim Tops List Of PGA Stars In Canadian Open

Many of the PGA Tour's top stars have confirmed their intention to play at the 2008 RBC Canadian Open which will be held at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario July 21-27.
Leading the way is two-time PGA Tour winner Anthony Kim who currently ranks fifth on the PGA Tour money list after his victory at last week's AT&T National. The 23-year old Kim has taken the Tour by storm in 2008 after becoming the youngest American since Tiger Woods to claim two PGA Tour events in one year.
Joining Kim are six other young stars who have also confirmed their intention to compete including Camilo Villegas, Hunter Mahan, Johnson Wagner, Steve Marino, Ryan Moore and Nicolas Thompson.
“The young stars on today's PGA Tour have a tremendous opportunity right now to showcase their considerable talents on the world stage and we're delighted to welcome them all to this year's RBC Canadian Open,” said RBC Canadian Open Tournament Director Bill Paul. “All of these players are under 30 years of age and will develop into the future stars of the PGA Tour for many years to come. Combined with our previously announced list of Canadians and PGA Tour veterans, these young stars enhance a solid field heading for the inaugural RBC Canadian Open.”

SWIVEL HIPS SAYS:
There is no good reason in SWIVEL HIPS’ mind the top stars of the PGA Tour, like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott and many others, continue to avoid the Canadian Open like the plague. Scheduling it one week after the British Open might have something to do with it, however, non?
