A Visit To The Farmers Market
Our Mystery Traveller did not have far to go this trip when they visited the St. Albert Farmers Market yesterday. Here are some scenes including the free bike parking provided by Cranky's Bike Shop.

A Pleasant Summer Lunch In Stony Plain

Don,
We stopped by the Multicultural Heritage Centre in Stony Plain and had a lovely lunch on the patio of the Homesteader Restaurant on Thursday. (Editor: Notice the murals in the background of the bottom shot, folks. If you've never been there, go take a look.)

That's a great spot indeed. During my working years, I had lunch there often when visiting the local paper which we owned at the time. Those ladies in the kitchen do a super job.
City Of St. Albert Paving - Is It Really Necessary?
Don,
I asked Councillor Heron why the road work was being done on Boudreau and then followed up with commenting that Edmonton must have not heard of this! I can't see how repairs would cost more when they strip the entire road section, should be the same cost to do that regardless of the conditions.

Ms. Heron responded: "I will try and dig up the engineering answer to your question, as there is a good one. Council asked the exact same question last year when the city was resurfacing Bellerose west of Boudreau. There is what is called a pavement quality index curve. It predicts when a road’s quality (based on numerous and testable factors) requires resurfacing and if the resurfacing is not done then the quality of the road quickly drops off and requires a much more expensive rebuild. Arterial and collector roads deteriorate much faster than local roads due to the heavier traffic and trucks and buses etc. I’m obviously not an engineer so I will find the detailed report given to council and pass it on to you."
Cathy Heron
Second response: "What I have heard about Edmonton is that the council from a number of years back decided to save some money and not resurface roads when required now the public is outraged at the state of roads and it is costing a fortune to catch up."

Fishing Alberta With Paul C.
Finally my video is released after starting on it two years ago. Spring fishin' is so much fun and I highly recommend trying it.
If you watch the video closely you will see I am catching fish in shallow water which is about five feet deep and there is a gravel bottom there as well.
Rainbow try and spawn but the eggs will not hatch due to no running water. The fish are very close to shore, and wee-1 produced some big rainbows this year.
The music is by the band "Fear of City" who I might a few years ago. The music is on the edge and I enjoy metal music.
The company that did the shoot is Vintage Reprise. I met Angie when I took a day seminar for camera training. I liked her photography because there is a certain amount of mystic surrounding it. Here is a link to her web site.
Special thanks go to Angie and Jamie for toughing it out during a cold windy day to shoot the video. So now, enjoy the video.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
