Lyme Disease Awareness

Federal Framework for Lyme Disease Draft

In May of 2016, Susan McInnis, (LDAA President) attended the Conference to Develop a Federal Framework for Lyme Disease in Ottawa, on behalf of Albertans. Jim Wilson, Felix & Janet Sperling, Gwen Barlee, and more attended on behalf of of CanLyme. Provincial organizations from across the country were in attendance. Next steps were to develop a draft that would incorporate remarks at the conference that include these stakeholders as well as others.

This draft was published on February 7 without further consultation from stakeholders.
This is in violation of the intention of the federal guidelines - collaboration.

Please read this link from CanLyme and participate in sending the Public Health Agency of Canada your feedback. CanLyme is asking that you cc them in your feedback, LDAA asks that you do the same for us so that we can ensure we are all heard. (info@AlbertaLyme.org)

Lyme patients and advocates have come too far to slow down now. Now is the time to really step up and be heard! Let's respond clearly, concisely, and professionally. Use precise quotes from the draft to make your points strong. If you have a relationship with your MP, this is a good time to inform him/her of this most recent event.

Change happens when enough people speak up in the same voice!
